A figure of truly broad and deep experience in all aspects of the dance and electronic music industry, Paul Rose - aka Scuba - is uniquely placed to offer real expertise, insight, and tangible contribution. Since 2003 he has released productions covering the entire range of electronic music, revelling in the creative process and bucking expectations. Across five critically acclaimed artist albums and commercially released mixes for the DJ Kicks, fabric, and Ostgut Ton, he has also won a DJ Mag Best Live Act award and scored a feature length motion picture along the way. He remains one of the industry’s most astute tastemakers. Celebrating 20 years in 2023, his Hotflush imprint has shaped the direction of the electronic landscape, breaking the careers of key figures such as Mount Kimbie, George FitzGerald, Mind Against, and Joy Orbison.
He also headed a 5-year run of the seminal ‘SUB:STANCE’ parties at the world's best club, Berghain, immersing many of the key figures of the UK-centric dubstep movement of the 2000s directly in the core of Berlin’s techno scene. Since January 2022, Rose has presented the ‘Not A Diving Podcast’, a weekly discussion of meaty industry topics and deep dives into scenes and sounds which has grown into one of the most prominent podcasts in electronic music, consistently in the top 10 UK music charts on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Guest highlights have included Seth Troxler, Laurent Garnier, Skream, legendary promoters Mark Broadbent (We Love Space), and Rich McGinnis (Warehouse Project), as well as Hospital Records founder Chris Goss.
